Chronicles of the Everflame Collective is a collaborative storytelling and roleplaying game for 2 to 7 players. You need pencils, paper, and a few six-sided dice to play the game.

All but one of the players take on the roles of epic fantasy Adventurers. These Adventurers are members of an adventurers’ guild known as the Everflame Collective, and during the game they team up to undertake a quest in service of their community. One player assumes the special role of Guide. The Guide presents the Adventurers with challenges to overcome.

The Everflame system was designed based on several years of experience sharing RPGs with young people, so the system may be most helpful for teachers, parents, or others who want to share RPGs with their own groups of young people. The intent, however, was to design a “newcomer friendly” game for all ages — adults and kids alike.

The Chronicles of the Everflame Collective rulebook is a 24-page zine that includes:

  • Full rules for creating an adventurer and playing through an Everflame chronicle
  • Maps of the town and the surrounding region
  • Two playable adventures: Chronicle of the Runaway Ruminant and Chronicle of the Toxic Temple
  • Tips for the Guide about leading a game session and designing new chronicles
  • Safety tools designed to keep the game safe and fun for all players
